BUT you certainly have to have a PvP build. Now you may not have to have Top of the line gear and/or rotations in PvP. It won't take anything away from PvP because what it offers (both gameplay and rewards) are different than PvP. It is a challenge for End-game PvE builds. And what it brings to the table is entirely different than what PvP brings. More intense and more freedom than trials. That you cannot get the benefits of PvP, without doing PvP.īy your logic you could make the argument that any new PvE content takes away from the PvP aspect of the game. That is not what this thread is about, nor does anything my idea do affect PvP or those aspects that you listed.Įspecially when I specifically noted that my idea will NOT have the same rewards as PvP. Just your point is almost entirely about problems that face PvP.ģ. Needless to say, forum doomsayers lamenting " toxic PvP players", " endless griefing" and " getting insta-gibbed the moment you step foot in Cyrodiil" doesn't help one bit, nor getting strawmanned, or called " silly", or accused of having a " temper tantrum" when a counter-argument is presented. PvP is not receiving new content, it's not receiving regular updates, and it's up to a few players to go out of their way to recruit the people and get them in. PC-EU is down to two 30-days campaigns (1 CP and 1 noCP), 1 7-days that is constantly the same color, and an under lvl50 primarily used by high levels to farm emp. There are a lot of new players entering the fray just because they want to collect the skyshards and do the delves, but then stay for hours after doing so, and keep returning.ĭespite that, we're losing servers. I personally introduced a lot of them to Cyrodiil, and they are now regularly playing it, along with their weekly trials and dungeon runs. Players interested specifically in PvP don't play ESO for some very simple reasons:ġ) The game is grindy, so you can't make a toon and jump in.Ģ) The game is not optimized, and PvP is not receiving regular updates, nor new content.ģ) The forums are filled of threads lamenting bad performances, lag and loading screens, which will immediately turn a potential PvP player away.Īmong the current player base there's a fair number of people convinced that PvP requires complicated rotations and top-of-the-line gear, so they convinced themselves it's not for them, based on that misconception. It's not an exaggeration, it's a predictive model based on current data, collected by players like myself over the years. One that is PvP with ALOT of PvE coming in. If people so desire, we could have two instances. It is not a system to get the benefits of PvP without doing PvP. The PvE Cyrodil would have completely different rewards. So no, a PvE Cyrodil will not kill PvP, that is an exaggeration, pure and simple. There will always be an appeal for PvP content. PvP and PvE are completely different experiences as people here have noted. Just because I am proposing a PvE idea does not mean we should abandon PvP, nor does it take anything away from it. I know there are people who would not want PvE interfering with their PvP. Open world PvP in PvE zones is not going to happen.
